What to consider when choosing

For a Jack Russell of 6–8 kg we recommend size M — inner space 50×43 cm. Measure the space between the bolsters: after an active day a Russell sleeps both curled up and stretched out on its side, so the bed has to fit both poses. A small dog under 6 kg that only sleeps curled up fits S (space 40×30 cm).

A mistake we see constantly: people buy a terrier "something small" — and then the dog sleeps on the sofa because the bed is too tight to stretch in. Measure the dog lying down and add 10–15 cm: for a Russell that's usually exactly M, not S.

A Russell digs at its bed every evening — it's a digging breed. We use upholstery-grade fabrics, like mid-range sofas: claws leave no snags, colour doesn't fade in the wash. Oxford is the toughest if the dog also chews. A terrier rips through the thin textile of cheap beds in weeks.

The first thing to wear out is the cover — with Russells faster than most breeds: they dig at it like a den and tug it with their teeth. That's why the cover is removable on a YKK zipper, and a spare can be ordered separately — cheaper than a new bed.

FAQ

What bed size for a Jack Russell?

For an adult Jack Russell of 6–8 kg we recommend M: outer 75×65 cm, inner space 50×43 cm. A small dog that loves a den fits S (65×50 cm).

A Jack Russell chews — will the bed hold up?

Oxford is the most tooth- and claw-resistant of our fabrics. No one can promise a chew-proof bed, but the dense fabric and strong seams last longer, and the removable cover is easy to replace separately.

Which fabric is best for an active terrier?

Oxford: unfazed by post-walk moisture, handles the load and wipes clean. The cover comes off on a YKK zipper and machine-washes.

Buy a Jack Russell puppy's bed with room to grow?

Yes, take the M right away for adult weight. The removable cover survives all the puppy-period washes.
