What to consider when choosing
For a Spitz of 2–5 kg we recommend size S — inner space 40×30 cm, made for curled-up sleeping. Don't size by eye "with the fur": under that lush coat is a 3 kg dog, and it wants a snug "den" with a bolster, not floor space. A small Spitz under 3 kg fits XS (space 25×25 cm).
The Spitz mistake is sizing for the volume of fur: people take an M, and the dog gets lost in it, huddling in a corner, because empty space doesn't keep it warm. Measure the dog sleeping curled up — the body itself, no allowance for coat — and add 10 cm.
A Spitz sheds so hard the undercoat flies in clouds. Our fabrics are upholstery-grade, like mid-range sofas: the fluff doesn't weave into the pile and brushes off, and the colour survives dozens of 30°C washes — and a Spitz gets washed often.
On the small sizes we made the bolster lower than on the large ones: easy for a Spitz to step over, comfortable to lean its back against — the breed's favourite pose. The first thing to wear out is the cover: even small dogs dig their "nest". It's removable on a YKK zipper, with spares sold separately.
