For a Dachshund of 6–9 kg we recommend size M — inner space 50×43 cm. Here you measure length, not weight: a Dachshund lies with its long body stretched out and needs those 50 cm. A mini Dachshund under 5 kg fits S (space 40×30 cm).
The most common Dachshund mistake is taking the S — "it's such a low dog". A standard Dachshund's body is longer than 40 cm: in an S it can only lie curled up. Measure your Dachshund sleeping stretched out, nose to hind paws, and add 10–15 cm — our orders show the right answer is almost always M.
