What to consider when choosing
For a German Shepherd of 30–40 kg we recommend size 2XL — inner space 85×70 cm. The measurement that matters is not the outer size of the bed but the space between the bolsters: that's where the dog actually lies. A shepherd sleeps stretched out on its side, so on a too-small bed the paws hang onto the floor.
The most common buyer mistake is taking a size smaller than needed, to save room. We see it at the workshop all the time. XL (space 75×55 cm) only suits a shepherd that sleeps curled up; for side sleeping take the 2XL. Measure your dog lying down and add 10–15 cm.
The fabric is upholstery-grade — the same used on mid-range sofas. It doesn't snag when the dog digs with its paws and doesn't lose colour in the wash. The thin cheap textile most beds are made of falls apart much sooner.
We developed each model around real breed sizes — adjusting width and length to how dogs actually sleep. For large breeds we raised the bolsters so the dog can rest its head on them. The first thing to wear out is the cover: a shepherd digs at it like a den or chews it. That's why the cover is removable on a YKK zipper, and a spare one can be ordered separately.

Which fabric is best if the shepherd sheds a lot?
Oxford or rogozhka: hair doesn't weave into the pile and brushes or vacuums off in a minute. The cover comes off on a YKK zipper and machine-washes at 30°C.
Should I buy a puppy's bed with room to grow?
Yes. A shepherd reaches adult weight by one year, so take the 2XL right away — the puppy won't get lost on a big bed, and the removable cover will survive all the puppy-period washes.
